Your nails dont need to breath...

You know how people say that you have to let your nails breath every once in a while? Well, NSI says thats a myth and as long as the areas around your nail are healthy such as your eponychium, hyponichuim, and side walls (i hope i spelled those right) then your nail will be healthy as well. Since your nails are mostly keratin protein, which is dead, it dosent need oxygen to survive....Go to NSIInternational.com for the article.

What do I think? I agree, but when I tell people to let your nails breath, what I really mean is.....in case there are air bubbles, or lifting that you cant see where water and other liquids can creep through, I believe you need to remove the acrylic so you can make sure everything is alright. Sanitize and reapply the acrylic or gel nail. I think it's safer telling clients to let there nails breath rather than, 'you could get bacteria under there and lose your nail!!'

How about you?
